Greetings original like 26 members that signed up last year!
and anyone who follows us on facebook.
You website viewers! Like Woah!
Our next meeting is going to be about books and their interactions with other media.
A specific example, that isn’t a movie is pride and prejudice in vlog form because I have to be a hipster.
You can find it here:
It won like an Emmy or something.
More examples would include movie adaptations of books and book adaptations of movies. Like world war Z the movie, which I liked, or things fall apart the movie. Which was like… ok for its time.
Or Beloved the movie, which was very scary.
Or the daredevil the book that’s based off of the movie adaptation that’s based off the comic. Which I liked better than the movie.
As always we have the figment page, were you can post your first drafts of things and edit each other’s work by leaving feedback.
Still working on the podcast. >.< I love you guys, please have mercy on me.
I encourage you to read Colin Lynch’s intro to his sci fi novel and prod the crap out of him to write more of it.
I’ve been struggling with technology and the e-mail list isn’t working for me so I’m sending the email the traditional way, I hope you don’t mind.
So last week we talked about censorship, what tools we like to write with, the places that we like to write at, and what inspires us to write.
We highlighted the poem/writing of the week. A poem by Ankur Razzdan. Here’s a link to it. (Heart it if you like it 🙂 )
Or just join whatever.
Next week we’ll be talking about book adaptations of movies… switch that, reverse it. Movie adaptations of books. The formalities of writing, like resume writing vs text speak. And (I feel like I messed up the list somehow >.< aren’t you not supposed to start a sentence with and?) any writing exercises, tips or tricks that you use to get better at writing.
As always, we’re at the poetry center Thursdays at 5pm.
Joshua Djakaria… Actually. This is super Cheesy but my favorite author, other than Hemingway is John Green.
You outta mosey on up tomorrow at 5:pm at the poetry center. Where we’ll talk about some of the highlighted writing posted on figment this week.
as well as topics as what inspires us to write and censorship/censored books that we like.
Also mosey is a word.
Also, feel free to join and post to the ECWC figment page. Its open to the public, also marketing. You’d be like, hey. I wrote stuff. Also. I think you can delete stuff if you change your mind. There’s a destroy button.
Joshua Djakaria a.k.a. Mr President
